Gain Flattering Filters
(GFF) for Optical
Amplifiers
solla-Q GFF
The Bookham Technology solla-Q wide-band
filter family is based on thin-film interference
filter technology. Bookham Technology uses its
proprietary Advanced Energetic Deposition, AED,
process to produce gain flattening filters. The AED
process features state-of-the-art layer thickness
control enabling the desired gain profile to be
closely replicated. Custom designs can be done
for the erbium doped fiber optical amplifier bands
in C and L band. Designs for Raman-based
amplification are also available.
Design Process
Bookham Technology has developed software design tools
to synthesize custom gain profiles and test their robustness
to manufacture. When you work with Bookham Technology
on your GFF design, you will have an expert design team
on your side. In order to start the design process, please
