RS-232 Character Indicator
Model 232CI
The RS-232 Character Indicator is used to help view high baud rate single
characters. It uses a "one shot" pulse stretcher to hold the TD and RD LEDs on long
enough for them to light up. The Pulse Stretcher is powered by ORing together lines
4, 5, 6, 8, and 20, one of which must be positive. The Power On LED will be on when
this condition is met. The Character Indicator WILL NOT WORK if the Power On
LED is not on. All pins are connected straight through the Character Indicator and
line loading is held to a minimum so as to not affect data rate.
